RULES & REGULATIONS

  1. The Organisers reserve the right to limit and refuse entries
  2. The Organisers reserve the right to remove any participant deemed physically incapable of continuing the race.
  3. The Organisers reserve the right to amend the Rules and Regulations without prior notification.
  4. The Organisers reserve the right to amend the race course with prior notice to participants.
  5. Participants have to place their bicycles at their designated location in the transition area.
  6. Participants in the relay categories are responsible for tagging their teammates at the designated areas after their respective legs.
  7. In the event of inclement weather, the Organisers reserve the right to delay the commencement of the race, shorten the race or modify the course.
  8. Should the inclement weather persist after the delay, the Organisers reserve the right to cancel the race without any refund of registration fees.
  9. Prior to race day, in the event of inclement weather, force majeure or other hazardous conditions, the Organisers reserve the right to reschedule or cancel the race without any refund of registration fees.
  10. Participants should be aware that while all possible care will be taken by the event organiser to safeguard the bag deposit items, the event organiser shall not be held liable in the unlikely event of missing or damaged items. 
  11. Participants are advised to avoid depositing valuable or fragile items while using the bag deposit service.

  1. The Organisers will not be responsible for any disputes arising from incomplete and/or incorrect entry details given by the participants.
  2. Participants racing in the Kids distance triathlon must be between 8 and 11 years old on 31 Dec 2024 to compete in the race.
  3. Participants racing in the Youth distance triathlon must be between 12 and 15 years old on 31 Dec 2024 to compete in the race.
  4. Relays can be made up of 2 or 3 people.
  5. Participants racing in the Sprint distance triathlon must be 16 years old and above on 31 Dec 2024 to compete in the race individually, and 14 years old and above to be part of a Sprint distance relay team.
  6. Participants racing in the Olympic distance triathlon must be 18 years old and above on 31 Dec 2024 to compete in the race individually, and 16 years old and above to be part of a Olympic distance relay team.
  7. Changes to race distance are permitted. An admin fee of IDR 200,000 will apply per change.
  8. Changes to team relay members are permitted. An admin fee of IDR 200,000 will apply per change of person.
  9. All changes must be made one week prior to race start (by 25 May 2024)
  10. Individual race entries are non-transferable. Any person doing so will be held responsible in case of an accident arising from or provoked by the other person during the race. The Organisers reserve the right to exclude both parties from future events.
  11. Once the registration form has been processed, there will be no refund for the participants who, for whatever reason, eventually do not take part.

  1. Swimsuits must be worn.
  2. All swimmers must wear the swim caps provided by the Organisers.
  3. Swim goggles may be worn.
  4. Fins, paddles, pool buoys, snorkels or any other swimming aids are not allowed.
  5. Wetsuits are not allowed. Regulation swim skins are permitted.
  6. Support crews are not allowed. Any assistance, other than medical aid received during the swim will result in immediate disqualification.
  7. No persons other than the participants and officials are permitted in the swimming area.
  8. Swimmers in difficulty shall signal by raising an arm to the escorting boats/canoes for assistance.
  9. Once assistance is rendered, the competitor must retire from the competition.
  1. No bare torso is allowed at any time.
  2. A participant may run or walk with his bicycle.
  3. Cyclists are to keep to the left side of the road and reminded to observe traffic rules at all times.
  4. All participants will be required to perform their own repairs if their bicycles should break down.
  5. Support vehicles and crews are not permitted.
  6. Every cyclist must fasten their helmet before the cyclist takes his/her bicycle from the bicycle rack and must stay fastened until the cyclist places the bicycle back at the allocated spot on the bicycle rack after the bike leg.
  7. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that their bicycles and bicycle brakes are in good working condition.
  8. Wearing headphones is not allowed at all times.
  9. Drafting is not allowed. You are considered drafting when you are within 5 metres of another participant’s rear wheel or riding next to someone within 2 metres. You are allowed 15 seconds in someone’s draft zone. Once you are passed, you must drop back out of the draft zone before overtaking the person who passed you.
  10. Cyclists caught drafting receive a stop & go penalty without warning
    1. Athletes will be shown a yellow card and asked to stop on the side of the road
    2. Once the athlete has come to a full stop with both feet on the ground, the athlete will be allowed to continue
    3. Athletes that refuse to stop will be disqualified
  1. Runners must wear their race numbers clearly visible at the front of their adorned apparel at all times.
  2. Support vehicles or pacers are not allowed.
  3. Runners must run on the designated path for the entire route. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
  4. No bare torso is allowed at all times.
  5. Wearing headphones is not allowed at all times.
  1. At Bintan Triathlon, we don't provide refunds for any reason, such as injury, illness, or scheduling conflicts, that prevent you from participating in our race events. Once you register for a race, the spot is reserved for you exclusively, so we cannot offer refunds. Please carefully consider your ability to participate in a sporting event before registering, and by registering, you agree to our no refund policy and ticket transfer policy. Thank you for your understanding.
  2. Bintan Triathlon does not offer refunds for any reason, including injury, illness, or scheduling conflicts. Consider your ability to participate before registering and agreeing to the no refund policy and ticket transfer policy.
  3. Ticket transfers are allowed to another person by contacting enquiry@bintantriathlon.id before registration closes (24 May 2024) with a IDR 200,000 transfer fee to cover administrative costs.
  4. If you are unable to make it for the race, you may write to us at enquiry@bintantriathlon.id to explore your options. Do note that there are strictly no refunds. Any requests made after registration closes (24 May 2024) will not be entertained.
